Linen is a beautiful, natural fabric but it needs a little more love than other fabrics. With the right care, your embroidered linen placemats and napkins will stay beautiful for years to come. Follow these simple guidelines to keep them in top condition.
Washing
Hand wash or machine wash on a delicate cycle at a maximum of 30°C (86°F).
Choose a short cycle with a low spin speed to prevent creasing and damage.
Use a mild liquid detergent without bleach to protect both colours and embroidery.
If possible, place items in a laundry bag to reduce friction.
Wash linen separately, and avoid mixing with different colours or materials.
Drying
Ironing
For best results, iron while the fabric is still slightly damp.
Use a medium heat setting and always iron on the reverse side of the embroidery to avoid damage.
Storing
Store your linen placemats and napkins in a cool, dry place.
Lay them flat or roll them to avoid creasing and permanent folds.
